Stranded on the Highway!!!!!
So I had a bad day...again
I guess I should have stayed in bed all day yesterday. So let me start by saying my boyfriend had to drive half way to meet his ex-wife in Chemult, Oregon
to pick up his daughter and her 2 kids to bring them back to stay with us for a month. I have a 2004 Nissan Xterra and he has a 1996 Chevy suburban. His suburban isn't working to good so he had to take my car to pick up the kids. He had told me that his car was working good enough to get me around town.
So he gets ready and leaves at about 7:30 am and I go back to sleep for a couple more hours. I wake up at about 10:00 and start cleaning my house to getting ready for all of those kids. At about 1:00 pm My sister calls and says "get ready and I will come pick you up in about half an hour". So I jump in the shower and get ready. At about 1:30 she hasn't arrived yet. I look at the clock at 2:00 and she is still not there it is at this time that I realize that I have a bill to pay and the place closes at 3:00.So I call her at 2:10 and she doesn't pick up. A couple of minutes later she calls back. I ask her where she is and she is shopping so I told her that I will just try to get the suburban running because I have a bill to pay (and if I don't pay it they will charge me a crap load on interest) and she says okay and we hang up. At this time I am a little pressed for time. So I go out to start to suburban and ir is dead! So I go get the battery charger and the cord isn't long enough so at this time I am freaking out, running around looking for a damn extension cord that is long enough. I finally find one and realize it is not going to be charged in time so I give up and call my mom and ask her to pick me up and take me over there. She being the greatest mom ever, rushes right over. So after we pay the bill she takes me and my son to go get something to eat and then drops us off back at my place. After eating I go outside to check the battery charger. It says the battery is 100% charged so I get in the car to try to start it ( not realizing I need to disconnect the charger first) and it starts but at the same time the charger cables get caught in the fan and the fan rips the cords right off the charger and the hood falls down on the charger and crushes it. I then turn off the ignition and get out to see what the damage is. I get out and notice that the cables have been ripped off the charger and I have no idea where they are so I get a stool so I can examine the engine and ralize that the damn cables are wrapped around the fan. I am thinking to myself WHAT THE HELL NEXT! So I get the cord untangled, start the suburban up again, get Daniel and start on my way to Walmart to buy my brother in law a new charger. So I am on my way to Walmart when I realize the suburban doesn't have as much power as it should and I think to myself maybe it isn't in the right gear so I change gears and it stalls out. I am like oh my god!!!!! So I try to restart it and it won't let me put into gear, it just stalls out before I can do anything. So I try like 4 more times and no luck, so I am forced to call my sister to come pick me up. She then sends my brother in law. As we are waiting for my brother in law Daniel and I realize that there is a wasp's nest inside the passenger door of the suburban, ewww. I just leave it alone thinking with my luck today they will get pissed and attack me and I will probably have an allergic reaction. No thanks.
Finally, as my brother in law arrives he hooks up a rope and we decide it would be best if he just towed me back to my house. So after said and done we made it safely back to my house and then headed back to their house for mexican food and LOTS of margaritas.
I am glad that day is over.
